There are many negative effects of steroids; some of the negative effects of steroids are that they damage kidneys and liver, which can cause detrimental effects on body. Some male abusers form breasts because of the use of steroids. Due to the increase in testosterone amount inside the body, steroids can cause serious acne problems, which are skin related negative effects of steroids. The negative effects of steroids are also seen in teenagers abusing steroids. 

According to a survey, steroids are maltreated by people of all ages. Lots of high school jocks are turning to other alternatives to help their aptitude. Several athletes are addressing some form of performance enhancing drugs. The reports showed that 5% of male high school jocks have used steroids and 2% women use them. 

The opinion poll and survey made on what children between the ages of 9 to 13 that covered both children that have and haven’t used steroids, revealed that 47 percent of drug users alleged steroids make muscular tissue stronger and bigger. 43 percent of them that haven’t used steroids said they also believed the drugs made muscles bigger. Only a few have reported the negative effects of steroids.

The negative effects of steroids can cause severe health troubles. Some severer or lasting negative effects of steroids include early hair loss, headache, dizziness, mood swings (anger, depression and aggression), hallucinations, intense feelings of distrust or terror, sleeping troubles, vomiting and nausea, trembling, high level of blood pressure, pain in joints, yellow fever, liver ulcer, urinary problems, shortening of the final adult height, increased risk of developing heart disease, stroke etc. 

There a very long list of negative effects of steroids. The women that use steroids run the risk of male pattern baldness. Several negative effects of steroids are even worse. Some people fall into comas after injecting the drugs, some may even die from the injections. The negative effects of steroids can also raise the risk of developing cardiovascular disease and often results in hyperinsulinism and diminished glucose tolerance, changes in lipoprotein fraction, increased triglyceride levels, increased concentration of several clotting factors, hypertension and changes in myocardium.
