School is right around the corner and parents all around the country are getting their last minute school supplies. Malls are having their “Back to school sales”, Just about every department store has stocked up on the essentials and are giving them away cheaper than the other guy. Everything is taken care of, except for one thing. Which dilemma do parents of upper grade children and college bound children face?

Parents of high school age children always worry about their children’s safety. Let’s face it, it’s our right to worry. Instead of worrying about who your child is hanging out with or whether there is a possibility that their friends are doing something behind the wheel that you do not approve of, don’t put them in the position to be tempted to disregard your wishes. You can give them their freedom and make them more responsible by doing one little thing.

Here is a suggestion that is both cost effective and will give your child the freedom that he or she has been begging for. Pick up a gas scooter. Gas scooters are about the most economical means of transportation around. If your child has a gas scooter to get them to school or work or wherever they want to go, then you won’t have to worry about them jumping into a car with that certain someone and potentially getting involved in something that is less than desirable.

Gas scooters can go the distance. Most gas scooters will travel from thirty to forty miles on a single tank of fuel. There are a few models that have revolutionized the scooter industry and can get as much as two-hundred miles per gallon.

The cost of ownership is miniscule compared to a car. Gas scooters can cost anywhere from two-hundred and fifty dollars all the way up to two-thousand dollars. The cost to fuel your scooter is pennies, compared to how much it cost to fill up your automobile. Your scooter will literally pay for itself within two to three fill ups.

College students needing to get around campus or the campus community can bypass the crowded college community by cruising around traffic on their gas scooter. Get one with a headlight and safely cruise around during the evening. College kids who need an alternative, inexpensive means of transportation can save more money by getting an economical, fuel efficient gas scooter instead of getting a gas guzzling, pocket draining car.

Variety is important. As with clothes and cars, there is a scooter that is just right for you’re child. Scooters come in all shapes, sizes and colors. Choose the one that fits your child’s individual needs and personality and let go of the reigns a little.
