Any season is the perfect season for a trip to Murcia, Spain. Murcia weather is no different than other cities on the Costa Blanca, including those towns in the popular Alicante Province. With the beautiful climate in this region, it should come as no surprise that these are some of the most popular destinations for tourists. Its beautiful climate is due partially to the ocean on the east and the mountains on the west. The breeze from the ocean keeps the otherwise hot temperature a comfortable climate while the mountains help shield the region from undesirable weather. The yearly average temperature is a comfortable 65 degrees Fahrenheit (18 degrees Celsius).

The coolest time of the year is generally the winter season during the months of December and January. The temperature during these months is approximately 50 degrees Fahrenheit (10 degrees Celsius). This is a good time for golf and hiking since you can dress lightly for the activity. However, the ocean breezes does cool things off in the evening so be sure to bring a jacket. The temperature in the fall is around 75 degrees Fahrenheit (24 degrees Celsius). This is a good time for travelers seeking to avoid the hustle and bustle of the popular summer months but still want to enjoy warm weather. Fortunately, the ocean water is warm enough to still enjoy swimming or even relaxing on the beach soaking up the sun. Basically, the weather is consistent enough that there really is not a time to not visit Murcia.

Regardless of the time of the year you choose to travel, there are some basic items you will want to have with you. In addition to a swimsuit and sunscreen, you will also want a light cover-up to protect your skin when the sun becomes too hot. A wide-brimmed hat can also help protect you from the heat and sun. You should bring a lightweight jacket, especially during the winter months of December and January. Due to the breeze in the evenings, though, you may find a jacket to be useful during other seasons as well. However, you probably will not need an umbrella since the average monthly rainfall is only three centimeters. The most rainfall is during the late fall and early winter when the city may get up to six centimeters each month during these times. Of course, there is plenty of shopping in Murcia and nearby coastal cities if you forget an item.
